Chapter 17.

Conclusion of the first part of the epistle

As far as was possible, and could be done with perspicuity, I cherish the hope that, according to
my desire, I have omitted none of those things at present [demanding consideration], which
bear upon your salvation. For if I should write to you about things future, you would not
understand, because such knowledge is hid in parables. These things then are so.
Chapter 18. Second part of the epistle. The two ways
But let us now pass to another sort of knowledge and doctrine. There are two ways of doctrine
and authority, the one of light, and the other of darkness. But there is a great difference between
these two ways. For over one are stationed the light­bringing angels of God, but over the other
the angels 2 Corinthians 12:7 of Satan. And He indeed (i.e., God) is Lord for ever and ever, but
he (i.e., Satan) is prince of the time of iniquity.
